2 clinical trials are still available for those interested in studies of obesity medication this fall. If you know friends or family members that might be interested in participating, please let them know. Studiesinclude dietary and behavioral support for one -two years. Assignment to research drug will be blinded and randomized, meaning you may receive placebo. Participants will receive a physical examination and be given various laboratory tests, all at no cost. Each participant’s medical condition will be closely monitored.
Research studies can be a useful option for weight management creating a structured support for behavioral change, commitment, and an opportunity to try a new therapy—all at no cost to you. Also, you may help others who struggle with weight by contributing to the understanding of obesity. Most studies require one- two hour appointments throughout the duration of the study. Participants will need to be comfortable with having blood drawn and fasting for 8 to 12-hour periods for several appointments.
