Many people find themselves falling out of their normal exercise routine during the holiday season, and plan to restart on January 1st. Rather than let your exercise fall to the wayside, try planning for the schedule changes, travel, or extra obligations that often take priority this time of year.
1) Take some time to look your schedule for the next few weeks. What new or different obligations do you have? How does that affect your exercise routine?
2) Modify your current exercise routine to better accommodate your new schedule! This might mean changing how often you exercise, how long your exercise for, or where you exercise.
3) Remember that SOMETHING is always better then NOTHING. Just because you can't make it to the gym for a 60 minute spin class doesn't mean you can't take a 10 minute walk around the block. Your exercise routine might look different during the holidays, that's okay. The most important thing is to keep the habit!
