How to Manage Holiday Stress: Wellness Moments

The holidays can be a joyful time of year...they can also be EXTREMELY stressful. Throughout the months of November and December Washington Center for Weight Management and Research will be posting quick tips to help manage your stress level, nutrition intake, and exercise plan. Whether you're trying to lose weight, or just trying to maintain your sanity, these tips can help! 

 

First up, a tip from our clinical psychologist, Dr. Rachel Burnett Ph.D. She recommends focusing on self-care this holiday season.

 

Ramp up intentional self-care, even short "wellness moments" - taking 3 deep breaths while waiting for elevator, taking a stretch break mid-morning, taking one not-so-important task off your holiday to-do  list, etc.
