Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update from WCWMR

The health of our patients our top priority. We are continuing to monitor the COVID-19 virus, also known as coronavirus. We are staying vigilant with the necessary precautions and preventative measures as per the guidelines set out by the CDC and other health advisories regarding the spread of the virus. Although the risk is still low, we are expecting an increase in positive cases due to more available tests.

To ensure the safety of our patients and staff:

🧽We are, as is standard policy, vigilantly cleaning exam rooms, equipment and common surfaces in between patients.

🌡If you are actively sick and exhibiting symptoms like cough, runny nose or fever, please stay home and reschedule your appointment.

🤧If a patient arrives showing symptoms of the seasonal flu, or common cold, we will ask them to please reschedule their appointment; direct them to urgent care, their primary care or the emergency room; and, promptly disinfect the office for the safety of our patients and staff.

✈️If you or a family member have recently traveled outside of the US, please reschedule your appointment.

🧼As always, there are steps you can take to prevent the spread of illness. These include frequently washing your hands, staying home if you are sick, and coughing or sneezing into your elbow.

Please be reminded:

● Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds frequently throughout the day.

● If you wear eyeglasses you can clean the frame with alcohol or disinfecting wipes - avoid bleach as this can damage the frames.

● Stay away from people who are exhibiting signs of respiratory illness or fever.

● Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your elbow/shoulder when coughing or sneezing.

● Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands. We all touch these areas more than we realize.

● Avoid large crowds.

● Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces-especially if someone is ill.

● Those who have international travel plans should please take heed to the travel warnings and alerts issued by the CDC and take appropriate actions in regard to avoiding contact with others if coronavirus symptoms present after traveling.

We continue to monitor this situation as it evolves, and we will update you with new procedures and processes as they are put into place in effort to protect patients.
